  • The only Vietnamese city on the list of “Asia’s highest return visitor rates:” Ranking above Hong Kong

The only Vietnamese city on the list of “Asia’s highest return visitor rates:” Ranking above Hong Kong

Da Nang, the only Vietnamese city on the list, ranked alongside other famous tourist destinations.

Vietnam’s tourism is increasingly affirming its position in the hearts of international tourists, becoming a favorite destination. The clearest evidence is the rising number of foreign visitors to Vietnam each year.

The return rate of tourists who choose to visit Vietnam more than once is also a significant factor. Most recently, a city in Central Vietnam was honored to be included in Agoda’s “Top 10 Asian Destinations with the Highest Return Visitor Rate.”

The list includes many famous names, with the Vietnamese representative ranking 8th, surpassing the Malaysian city of Johor Bahru and Hong Kong (China). That city is Da Nang. This marks the first time Da Nang has made it onto this list and is the only name from Vietnam. The full list includes:

    1. Bangkok (Thailand)
    2. Tokyo (Japan)
    3. Seoul (South Korea)
    4. Bali (Indonesia)
    5. Osaka (Japan)
    6. Taipei (Taiwan – China)
    7. Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia)
    8. Da Nang (Vietnam)
    9. Johor Bahru (Malaysia)
    10. Hong Kong (China)

What Makes Da Nang So Appealing to Tourists?

Da Nang has long been known as a bright spot on Vietnam’s tourism map, but its first-time inclusion in the “Top 10 Asian Cities with the Highest Return Visitor Rate” by Agoda reaffirms the enduring appeal of this “liveable city.”

It is not just famous for its long My Khe Beach or its peaceful pace of life; Da Nang is also a harmonious blend of natural landscapes, unique architectural icons, and modern service infrastructure, making anyone who visits want to come back.

One of the “icons” that has put Da Nang on the map for international travel sites is the Golden Bridge at Ba Na Hills—a 150-meter architectural masterpiece supported by two giant hands reaching out from the clouds. Since its opening in 2018, the bridge has consistently been listed as a “must-visit destination” by many major travel magazines.

Not far away, Marble Mountains—a cluster of five limestone mountains with pagodas, caves, and intricate stone carvings—was recognized as a special National Monument in 2019. Son Tra Peninsula is another gem with pristine nature and the rare red-shanked douc langur. Tourists can go trekking and admire a panoramic view of the city from the 67-meter-high Lady Buddha statue at Linh Ung Pagoda.

Beyond nature and heritage, Da Nang also attracts visitors with its modern structures and vibrant festivals. The Dragon Bridge, which stretches across the Han River and “breathes fire” on weekends, is considered a unique nighttime attraction by many tourists. The Han River Bridge, Vietnam’s first rotating bridge, offers a romantic and vibrant scene with its glittering lights every weekend evening.

Da Nang’s infrastructure is also well-invested, enhancing the tourist experience. The Da Nang International Airport’s T2 terminal has consistently received a 5-star rating from Skytrax and is on the “Top 10 Best Airports in Asia” list. For accommodation, the city boasts a series of high-end resorts like Danang Marriott Resort & Spa – Non Nuoc Villas, which was named “World’s Best Seaside Resort” at the Haute Grandeur Award 2025, and Furama Resort Da Nang, which has been nominated for “Vietnam’s Leading Resort” by the World Travel Awards for many years.

Da Nang’s cuisine is another major draw, from Quang noodles and banh xeo to fresh seafood. Many international tourists say one of the reasons they return to Da Nang is to enjoy its simple but soulful Central Vietnamese dishes, combined with the friendliness and hospitality of the local people.

With its natural, cultural, and human advantages, along with prestigious international awards, Da Nang is solidifying its position as an “all-in-one” destination in Asia. Whether for a relaxing retreat, nature exploration, a culinary journey, or to capture lifelong memories, this city can meet all needs, explaining why more and more tourists choose to return again and again.

Suggested Itinerary for a Trip to Da Nang

Tourists can start their morning at My Khe Beach, once voted by Forbes as one of the most attractive beaches on the planet, then head to Ba Na Hills to enjoy the cool air and snap photos at the Golden Bridge amidst the clouds. In the afternoon, the journey can continue with exploring Marble Mountains or Son Tra Peninsula, combining trekking, sightseeing, and learning about the spiritual life. As night falls, a cruise on the Han River to watch the Dragon Bridge breathe fire and the Han River Bridge rotate is an unforgettable experience for many visitors.

After Da Nang, four other Vietnamese destinations have also made a strong impression on international tourists with high return rates in the first half of 2025: Nha Trang, Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, and Phu Quoc.

Each place has its own unique charm: Nha Trang is famous for its turquoise beaches and coral diving; Ho Chi Minh City is appealing for its vibrant pace of life, rich street food, and a mix of classic French and modern architecture; Hanoi retains its ancient charm with its Old Quarter, Hoan Kiem Lake, and unique culinary culture; and Phu Quoc is known as the “pearl island” with its clear blue seas, white sand, and luxurious resorts.

  • Good news for Da Nang.

    Good news for Da Nang.

On August 14, the People’s Committee of Da Nang City announced the specialized urban transportation planning project for Da Nang City to 2030, with a vision to 2045.

Accordingly, the city is oriented toward developing underground transportation, with several key routes drawing public attention.

Specifically, the airport tunnel will serve as a transport route connecting the eastern and western sides of the airport, helping to reduce traffic pressure on Dien Bien Phu and Cach Mang Thang Tam streets. The road begins going underground after the Truong Chinh – Dinh Thi Van intersection, passing under the airport toward Duy Tan. After crossing the intersection with Nguyen Huu Tho street, the route resurfaces.

The road tunnel is about 2.1 km long and is planned to include both a road tunnel and a tunnel for public transport (MRT Line 1).

The Han River tunnel will connect Dong Da street with Van Don street, with a length of about 0.83 km. It is also expected to include both a road tunnel and a public transport tunnel (MRT Line 2).

The new railway station tunnel will be located along the road connecting the new railway station and Road No. 2 of Hoa Khanh Industrial Zone. The route will go underground beneath the new railway station, the high-speed railway, the regular railway, and the expressway. The tunnel will be about 0.8 km long, designed to accommodate both ground-level traffic and public transport (LRT Line 3).

According to the planning project, public transport routes will also be developed underground. MRT Line 1 will begin going underground before the Vanh dai 2 (Western Ring Road 2) – Dinh Liet intersection, pass under the airport, continue along the eastern airport boundary – 29 March Park – and reach the central transfer station at the existing railway station. The underground MRT section will be about 6.1 km long.

MRT Line 2 will begin going underground before the Ngo Quyen – Tran Thanh Tong intersection, pass under the Han River and Dong Da street, and connect to the central transfer station at the existing railway station. The underground section will be about 4.3 km long.

LRT Line 6 will run underground in the section before the September 2 Monument, with an underground length of about 1.3 km.

According to the Da Nang People’s Committee, multiple underground transport routes in the city center are planned to save land, creating a complete and multifunctional underground space that enhances land-use efficiency.

Earlier, the Da Nang People’s Committee also announced the groundbreaking of a series of key projects to celebrate National Day (September 2).

The six projects include: the expansion of Chu Lai Truong Hai Automobile Mechanical Industrial Park; a resettlement area for the North–South high-speed railway project in Dien Ban Bac Ward; a cultural, entertainment, and high-end commercial park (Da Nang Downtown); the Ba Na – Suoi Mo eco-tourism and urban complex project; an apartment project on lots C1 and C2 in the Phu My An urban area; and a social housing project on lots B4-1 and B4-2 in Hoa Hiep 4 resettlement area.

The groundbreaking of these six key projects is also an opportunity to promote Da Nang as a dynamic city full of potential, an attractive destination for both domestic and international investors, and a modern, civilized, environmentally friendly urban area that better serves the needs of its residents.

  • Overview of 7 planned locations of Da Nang Free Trade Zone

Overview of 7 planned locations of Da Nang Free Trade Zone

Seven planning locations with different functions create a complete Da Nang Free Trade Zone structure.

Da Nang is planning a large-scale Free Trade Zone, including 7 important locations scattered in Hai Van ward, Ba Na commune, and Hoa Vang commune.

These are carefully selected areas to develop into centers for logistics, manufacturing, high-end trade and services, digital technology, and innovation.

Each location has its own function but is connected together in a master plan, aiming to create a modern and synchronous economic space.

Located right next to Lien Chieu Port – a strategic deep-water seaport in the Central region – the No. 1 location is planned to become a key logistics area of the entire free trade zone. This will form important logistics infrastructures such as distribution centers, bonded warehouses, inland container depots (ICDs), warehouse systems and multimodal transport services.

Not only is it a gathering and transit point for goods, the No. 1 location is also a gateway for trade connecting the East-West economic corridor, effectively linking seaports, railways and road transport systems, creating a cross-regional and international logistics network for Da Nang.

Location 2 has an area of about 77 hectares, located in Hai Van ward. The North borders the Lang Van tourist complex and resort urban area and Lien Chieu communal house area; the South borders the Lien Chieu Industrial Park and residential area behind Kim Lien Bay; the East borders the residential area and Lien Chieu Industrial Park; the West borders the Lang Van tourist complex and resort urban area project.

Located next to location 1, location 2 is formed as an extension of the logistics center, acting as a preliminary processing area for re-export. The interconnected spatial structure between the two locations will create a closed port – logistics – processing complex, improving supply chain efficiency and meeting international trade standards.

Location 3 has an area of about 500 hectares, located in Hai Van ward. The North borders the ADB5 Bac Thuy Tu – Pho Nam road; the South borders the Cu De river; the East borders the Nam Hai Van bypass road; the West borders An Dinh village (former Hoa Bac commune – now Hai Van ward).

This is where a large-scale production center is planned, integrating logistics functions. Located between the Cu De River and the suburban road connecting to the airport, this place is considered the “main workshop” of the Trade Center – where export production chains are organized professionally and systematically, maximizing geographical advantages and multimodal transportation.

The development of the first three locations forms a “golden triangle” of industry – logistics – export, concentrated in the Lien Chieu port area, expanding the city’s economy to the North and Northwest.

Next to these locations, development space is opened up on the western hillsides, where nature, technology and high-class services are harmoniously planned.

Location 4 has an area of about 559 hectares, located in Ba Na commune. The North borders Hoa Ninh cemetery and the Western belt road, the South borders Dong Son and Son Phuoc villages; the East borders Son Phuoc village and DT 602 road; the West borders the Western belt road.

Adjacent to the existing High-Tech Park and Concentrated IT Park, location No. 4 will be the final piece to form the largest innovation cluster in Da Nang. With the advantage of sharing modern technical infrastructure and a clean ecological environment, this place aims to attract high value-added industries such as electronics, biotechnology, AI, semiconductor chips, etc.

Overview of 7 planned locations of Da Nang Free Trade Zone - Photo 9.

Location No. 5 (area of 90 hectares) and Location No. 6 (154 hectares) are both located in Ba Na commune. Location No. 5 is one of the first plots of land to be cleared in preparation for construction. Sun Group Corporation plans to build luxury resorts, resort villas, duty-free shopping centers and international-class commercial services here, contributing to making Da Nang a luxury tourism center in the region.

Overview of 7 planned locations of Da Nang Free Trade Zone - Photo 10.

Location No. 6 is planned as a “high-class green neighborhood” – where international residents, experts and tourists can enjoy an ecological space combined with a modern system of commercial, medical, resort and health care facilities.

Locations 5 and 6 create a trade – service – resort axis parallel to the industry – production axis, clearly demonstrating the multi-industry integration spirit of the Da Nang free trade zone.

Overview of 7 planned locations of Da Nang Free Trade Zone - Photo 11.

Location No. 7 has an area of 401 hectares, located in the two communes of Ba Na and Hoa Vang. Considered the “Silicon Valley” of the Central region, this is where the digital economic zone is formed with modern infrastructure, integrating universities, R&D centers, expert housing areas, hospitals and sports and cultural centers. Not only attracting technology businesses, this area also aims to build an international intellectual community, bringing Da Nang into the era of innovation and creativity.

Currently, the Management Board of Da Nang High-Tech Park and Industrial Parks is coordinating with local authorities to publicize planning documents and drawings and collect comments from agencies, organizations, individuals and communities.

This activity is within the framework of the city’s general planning, related to the identification of 7 locations expected to build functional areas in the Free Trade Zone.

The posting of documents and receiving comments will be carried out within 30 days, starting from July 18, in communes and wards related to the planning scope.

  • Da Nang Merger: A new coastal powerhouse

Da Nang Merger: A new coastal powerhouse

After twenty-seven years of charting separate courses, two siblings of the Vietnamese coast are set to reunite. Da Nang, the vibrant, modern metropolis, and Quang Nam, the serene keeper of ancient traditions, are on the cusp of a historic merger. This is not a simple redrawing of administrative lines on a map; it is the genesis of a new powerhouse, a unified city poised to become a socio-economic titan for Vietnam and all of Southeast Asia. The new entity, carrying the globally recognized name “Da Nang,” is a bold answer to a pressing question: how to unlock the next chapter of growth by weaving together the best of the past and the future.

The story of this new city begins with its two distinct, yet complementary, souls. Imagine stepping into Da Nang today. It’s a city of gleaming skyscrapers, of wide boulevards tracing the curve of a coastline so beautiful that Forbes magazine has crowned its beaches among the world’s best. It’s a hub of dynamic energy, where international conferences fill state-of-the-art convention centers and over 46,000 hotel rooms, many in five-star coastal resorts, welcome visitors from every corner of the globe. This is Da Nang—the modern, ambitious sibling, with its eyes fixed firmly on the horizon.

Then, a short journey south, the rhythm changes. You enter Quang Nam, and it feels like stepping back in time. Here, the air is thick with history. The ancient town of Hoi An glows under the soft light of a thousand lanterns, its canals reflecting centuries of merchant history. Further inland, the silent, moss-covered towers of the My Son Sanctuary whisper tales of the Champa Kingdom. The natural world here is just as profound, from the pristine coral reefs of the Cu Lao Cham archipelago, a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, to the lush, mountainous interior. This is Quang Nam—the wise, soulful sibling, a guardian of culture and nature.

For years, they operated as neighbors, cooperating on occasion but fundamentally separate. The merger changes everything. It transforms polite handshakes into a shared destiny. The vision is to create integrated journeys that were once just dreams. A tourist could spend the morning surfing Da Nang’s modern waves and the afternoon wandering Hoi An’s timeless alleys. A “Central Heritage Trail” will no longer be a multi-stop itinerary but a seamless experience within a single, vast destination. This unified ambition is already attracting staggering investment. Projects like the $1.72 billion Lang Van International Resort and the second billion-dollar phase of the Hoiana integrated resort are not just building hotels; they are laying the foundations for a world-class, multifaceted destination. Crucially, this growth is being anchored in sustainability, with Hoi An leading the way through a major coastal protection project, ensuring that the very beauty drawing the world to its shores is preserved for generations to come.

But the vision for “New Da Nang” extends beyond sun-kissed shores and ancient stones. It aims to be the region’s preeminent technological brain. Da Nang has already earned its reputation as Vietnam’s leading IT hub, boasting an impressive 9% average annual growth and a digital economy that contributes over a fifth of its GDP. For fourteen consecutive years, it has worn the crown for IT readiness in the nation. Now, this technological prowess is set to be supercharged. The merger will fuel its ambition to become a nerve center for the industries of tomorrow: microchips, semiconductors, and artificial intelligence.

The blueprint for this future is already being built. Vietnam’s first-ever Free Trade Zone is taking shape in Da Nang, a crucible for innovation designed to attract global tech giants and nurture local startups. Within it, a dedicated Digital Technology and Innovation Zone will become a campus for brilliant minds working on AI, big data, and blockchain. This digital heart will be powered by new arteries of connectivity, including an international submarine cable system breaking ground in 2025. Software Park No. 2, an international-standard facility, will soon open its doors to 6,000 tech professionals, creating a vibrant ecosystem for collaboration and discovery. Meanwhile, Quang Nam, with its growing industrial parks and a new focus on high-tech manufacturing, provides the essential industrial muscle and land for this technological expansion to flourish.

For this new metropolis to thrive, connecting its cultural soul and its technological brain, it needs powerful arteries of commerce. The combined region already serves as the logistics fulcrum of Central Vietnam, a seamless network of sea, air, road, and rail. Da Nang’s Tien Sa Port is a bustling gateway for international trade, while Quang Nam’s Chu Lai Port is a vital hub for the entire central highlands. But the future is far grander.

Construction is underway on Lien Chieu Port, a new deep-water titan that will welcome the world’s largest cargo ships, positioning “New Da Nang” as a key transshipment hub on international maritime routes. In the skies, Da Nang International Airport is expanding to handle 30 million passengers annually, while Quang Nam’s Chu Lai Airport is slated for a massive upgrade to become an international air cargo and passenger gateway. On the ground, new expressways and a proposed urban railway will stitch the region together, making the journey from a factory in Chu Lai to a container ship in Lien Chieu, or from a hotel in Hoi An to a flight from Da Nang, faster and more efficient than ever before.

The reunification of Da Nang and Quang Nam is more than a merger; it is the creation of a single, formidable identity. It is a city where ancient heritage inspires modern innovation, where ecological sanctuaries exist alongside smart industrial parks, and where logistical might powers economic growth. This is the story of “New Da Nang”—a family brought back together not just to reclaim a shared past, but to build a bold, brilliant, and sustainable future for all of Vietnam.

  • Da Nang & Quang Nam Merger: Vietnam’s Super Metropolis

Da Nang & Quang Nam Merger: Vietnam’s Super Metropolis

On July 1, 2025, a significant milestone will be marked in Vietnam, opening a promising new chapter for the “Miami of Vietnam” – Da Nang. Quang Nam province and Da Nang city will officially merge, creating a new “super-metropolis” named Da Nang City, with its political and administrative centre located in the current Da Nang city. This is not merely a change in administrative boundaries; it’s a strategic, ambitious move to forge a regional economic and financial hub.

    New scale, New stature

Imagine a city with a total natural area spanning over 11,859 km², making Da Nang the largest centrally-governed city in Vietnam by area. With an estimated population of over 2.7 million people, the new Da Nang City will become a vibrant residential and economic centre.

This significant expansion in both area and population will transform Da Nang into a unique and diverse “super-metropolis.” It will encompass both highly urbanized, bustling coastal areas – what we currently know as the heart of Da Nang – and vast rural, mountainous, and ethnic minority regions located in the western part of Quang Nam. This combination offers a comprehensive picture of multi-dimensional development potential, from modern urban economies to sustainable natural resource exploitation.

Two strategic zones, one development vision

To optimize this diverse potential, the spatial development plan for the new Da Nang is divided into two strategic zones:

    • Eastern Zone (coastal plain area): This will be the heart of urban development. This zone is oriented towards developing a chain of functional urban areas, including administrative, heritage, tourism, industrial, seaport, airport, and educational centers. Da Nang will solidify its position as a financial, tourism, logistics, high-tech industry, clean industry, and high-tech agriculture hub. With modern infrastructure and a strategic geographical location, the Eastern Zone will be a magnet for investment and the development of key economic sectors.
    • Western Zone (mountainous area, ethnic minority regions): In stark contrast, the Western Zone will focus on the sustainable exploitation of valuable natural resources. This zone is oriented towards developing into a national raw material base for forest products and medicinal herbs, while also supporting the development of high-tech agriculture. Additionally, garden economy, farms, animal husbandry, hydropower, and mineral exploitation will be prioritized. Notably, the Western Zone will be a place to preserve and promote the unique cultural values of ethnic minorities, intertwined with eco-tourism and community-based tourism, offering unique and sustainable experiences.

Economic impact and exceptional development opportunities

This merger is not just a mere administrative change but a strategic move that unlocks unprecedented economic development opportunities.

Expanded Economic Space and Industrial Land Fund

One of the primary goals of the merger is to address the limitations of Da Nang’s current economic development space, which is relatively small and features mountainous terrain unsuitable for large-scale industrial development. With the merger, Quang Nam, with its natural area of 10,438 km² and a large land fund for industrial development, will provide significant resources. Currently, Quang Nam has approximately 10,000 hectares of planned industrial park land, including key industrial parks such as Tam Thang, Bac Chu Lai, Dong Que Son, and the Chu Lai Open Economic Zone – home to major projects like Thaco Chu Lai, the largest automobile manufacturing center in the country spanning over 1,000 hectares.

This merger allows Da Nang to expand its development space southward and southwestward, leveraging clean land and reasonable land lease prices from Quang Nam to attract foreign direct investment (FDI) into manufacturing and high-tech industries. This expansion of industrial space is a fundamental solution to transform Da Nang’s economic development model from a limited urban center to a stronger regional industrial hub. The readily available land fund and reasonable lease prices are powerfully attractive factors for FDI.

Development of Industry, Logistics, and Financial Services

The economic structures of the two localities are highly complementary, creating a perfect synergy. While Da Nang’s GRDP primarily comes from the service sector (62.3%), with industry accounting for only 15.2%, Quang Nam’s GRDP sees 48.4% from industry and construction, notably automobile manufacturing and assembly, mechanical engineering, textiles, and electronics. This integration can form a development model similar to Ho Chi Minh City and Binh Duong, where high-end financial services (Da Nang) are closely linked to strong industrial production and export capabilities (Quang Nam).

The merger will facilitate the formation of an inter-regional transport corridor encompassing sea, road, and air routes, significantly enhancing logistics capacity. This system includes Tien Sa Port, Lien Chieu Port (under construction), Ky Ha Port, Da Nang International Airport, and Chu Lai Airport (expected to become a major cargo logistics hub for Central Vietnam). Da Nang is also being planned to become an international financial center in Vietnam, attracting international financial institutions, banks, fintech companies, and high-tech startups. General Secretary To Lam emphasized that the merger is a strategic step to develop a large-scale industrial, financial, and logistics center in Central Vietnam, capable of competing at the Asia-Pacific level.

This combination of complementary economic strengths creates a complete value chain from production to finance and export. A robust logistics network is a key factor in ensuring the efficient movement of goods and capital throughout the expanded region and internationally. This integrated approach will foster a self-reinforcing economic ecosystem, promoting sustainable growth and economic diversification.

Promoting High-Quality Tourism and Heritage Exploitation

The new Da Nang City will include Da Nang’s modern tourism infrastructure, extend the long beautiful beaches of Da Nang to 7 times, and combine it with Quang Nam’s rich cultural heritage, including two UNESCO World Cultural Heritage sites – Hoi An Ancient Town and My Son Sanctuary – along with the Cham Islands World Biosphere Reserve. The merged entity will possess over half a million hectares of pristine forest, the largest forest area in the country, including Song Thanh National Park, elephant and saola conservation areas, Son Tra, and the Cham Islands Biosphere Reserve. This is an invaluable resource for eco-tourism development.

The merger is expected to open a new chapter for the tourism industry, positioning the new Da Nang as a national tourism hub, connecting regionally and reaching internationally. The diversification from beach/urban tourism to heritage, eco-tourism, and community-based tourism will significantly enhance the destination’s appeal and competitiveness. This requires a unified tourism development strategy focused on marketing diverse products, ensuring sustainable activities (green tourism), and effective management of visitor flows at attractions.

Key Economic Sectors and Growth Drivers of the New Da Nang

Here’s an overview of the key economic sectors and primary growth drivers for the new Da Nang City:

Key Economic Sector Growth Drivers / Development Goals
High-Quality Tourism and Services Beach tourism, international resort real estate, preservation of world and national cultural heritage
Logistics Airport systems, seaports, economic zones, and international border gates; Chu Lai is becoming the cargo logistics hub of Central Vietnam

    Conclusion

The merger of Da Nang and Quang Nam is a strategic move, designed to expand economic development space and enhance the competitiveness of Vietnam’s Central region. The new Da Nang City will boast the largest geographical area and population among centrally-governed cities, offering immense potential to become a leading economic, financial, logistics, high-tech, and tourism hub in the Asia-Pacific region. This merger leverages the complementary strengths of the two localities: Quang Nam’s vast land fund and industrial base combined with Da Nang’s service capabilities, financial prowess, and modern urban infrastructure.

This is the moment for international investors to recognize Da Nang not just as a beautiful tourist destination but as a strategic economic center with outstanding development potential, a rising star.

  • Agtech in Vietnam: 2024 – 2025 Outlook and Opportunities

Agtech in Vietnam: 2024 – 2025 Outlook and Opportunities

Vietnam’s agricultural sector is undergoing a significant transformation, driven by technological innovation, strategic investments, and a commitment to sustainability. As the country aims to modernise its agriculture, Agtech – agricultural technology – is playing a pivotal role in enhancing productivity, ensuring food security, and promoting sustainable practices.

    • Sector Growth and Government Initiatives

The Vietnamese government plays an important role in supporting the growth of Agtech. With policies like Decree 57/2018/ND-CP, the government encourages businesses to invest in agriculture by offering tax cuts and other financial benefits. Investors can enjoy lower corporate income tax and even some tax exemptions.

To promote modern farming, Vietnam has set up around 2,000 high-tech farming cooperatives and six national high-tech agricultural zones. These initiatives help farmers access better land, affordable loans, new technology, and professional training. Thanks to this support, farmers are better equipped to apply advanced techniques and improve productivity in a sustainable way (Source: InCorp Vietnam).

    • Agtech Innovations and Startup Ecosystem

Vietnam’s Agtech landscape is witnessing a surge in innovation, with startups leveraging technologies like Artificial Intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT), and precision farming to address agricultural challenges.

    • Enfarm: Utilizes AI and IoT for precise crop management, enhancing productivity and sustainability (InCorp Vietnam).
    • Techcoop: Secured USD 70 million in funding to expand digital payment systems and target high-value export markets, aiming to double its revenue to USD 150 million in 2025. (InCorp Vietnam).

Despite these advancements, the Agtech ecosystem remains nascent, with only 8 out of 80 companies receiving funding. Experts emphasize the need for government-backed certification and acceleration programs to foster technology adoption and sector growth. (InCorp Vietnam)

    • Sustainable Practices and International Collaborations

Southern Vietnam – including areas near Ho Chi Minh City like Đồng Nai, Long An, and the Mekong Delta – is emerging as a center for sustainable farming and international collaboration. With growing demand for eco-friendly practices and export-ready produce, local farmers and organizations are adopting Agtech and global standards. Additionally, Bayer partnered with WASI to promote sustainable durian cultivation, a model being adapted for southern provinces due to similar conditions in 2024 (Source: VNExpress International).

Foreign partners like Korea are also investing in smart irrigation, crop monitoring, and traceability tech for key southern exports like dragon fruit and pomelo (Source: World Band Group). With Ho Chi Minh City as a tech and trade hub, the region and the nearer location, including Southern Provinces, is becoming a promising zone for innovation, sustainability, and international market growth.

    • Global Engagement and Market Expansion

Vietnam’s agricultural exports have gained significant traction in high-demand markets such as the European Union, the United States, Japan, and South Korea. Key exports include rice, coffee, durian, and dragon fruit, reflecting the country’s commitment to quality and sustainability (Source: VietnamPlus)

The AGRITECHNICA ASIA 2025 in March 2025  in Ho Chi Minh City, had further position Vietnam as a hub for agricultural innovation. The event showcased cutting-edge technologies and solutions tailored to Vietnam’s key agricultural sectors, fostering international collaborations and knowledge exchange (Agritechnica Asia).

    • Future Outlook

Looking ahead, Vietnam’s focus on integrating technology, sustainability, and international collaboration positions its Agtech sector for continued growth and global competitiveness (Source: Agroberichten Buitenland).

So, Agtech is not just an option – it’s becoming a necessity for Vietnam to remain competitive, feed its population, and meet global expectations. Whether you’re an investor, startup, or consulting partner, Agtech in Vietnam offers real demand, policy support, and growth potential.

  • Why Most B2B Brands Struggle to Stay Memorable – And How We Fix That

Why Most B2B Brands Struggle to Stay Memorable – And How We Fix That

In 2024 and beyond, many B2B brands face a common challenge: they struggle to remain memorable in a saturated market. This often results from a reliance on generic messaging and a lack of emotional connection with their audience.

    1. Generic Messaging: The Risk of Blending In

In B2B marketing, a prevalent issue is the overemphasis on product features rather than the benefits they offer to clients. This approach often results in messaging that lacks differentiation and fails to resonate with the target audience. A study highlighted that 77% of B2B campaigns scored just one star in creative effectiveness, indicating a significant gap in impactful communication. Such generic messaging not only diminishes brand recall but also leads to missed opportunities in capturing market share.

To stand out, B2B brands need to shift focus from mere feature listings to presenting clear, customer-centric benefits that address specific pain points and demonstrate tangible value. By doing so, they can create more compelling narratives that engage and persuade their audience effectively.

    2. Lack of Emotional Engagement: Overlooking the Human Element

Traditionally, B2B marketing has leaned heavily on logic and data, often neglecting the emotional aspects that drive decision-making. However, recent insights reveal that emotional connections play a crucial role in B2B relationships. A study found that brands that incorporate authentic storytelling and empathy into their strategies experience improved customer engagement and long-term success.

However, many B2B marketers struggle to justify emotion-driven approaches to stakeholders, with 47% facing challenges in implementing such strategies. More importantly, embracing emotional storytelling can humanize a brand, making it more relatable and fostering deeper connections with clients. By tapping into the emotional drivers of their audience, B2B companies can enhance trust, loyalty, and ultimately, their bottom line.

    3. Inconsistent Branding: The Pitfalls of Fragmented Messaging

Consistency in branding is vital for building trust and recognition in the B2B sector. However, many companies suffer from fragmented branding, where messaging and visuals vary across different channels and touchpoints. This inconsistency can lead to confusion among customers, compromise brand identity, and weaken overall marketing effectiveness.

Research indicates that companies with consistent branding across platforms see a 33% increase in revenue compared to those with fragmented messaging. Moreover, inconsistent branding can result in higher spending and reduced lead quality, as the lack of a cohesive brand experience undermines customer confidence. To mitigate these risks, B2B companies should implement a unified brand strategy that ensures alignment in messaging, design, and customer experience across all platforms.

  • Vietnam’s Organic Agriculture Boom: A Magnet for Foreign Investment (2024–2025)

Vietnam’s Organic Agriculture Boom: A Magnet for Foreign Investment (2024–2025)

Vietnam is experiencing a boom in organic agriculture as global demand for clean, eco-friendly products grows. Consumers in markets like the EU, US, Japan, and South Korea increasingly prioritize chemical-free foods, prompting Vietnamese farmers and exporters to pivot from conventional methods to organic practices. This shift is not only meeting international demands but also enhancing Vietnam’s competitiveness in global agriculture.

As of late 2023, around 495,000 hectares were dedicated to organic farming. The Vietnamese government has strongly supported this movement through policies like Resolution No. 19-NQ/TW (2022) and Decree No. 109/2018/ND-CP. These include subsidies, training, and aligning local certifications with global standards such as USDA Organic and EU Organic. These efforts are building international trust and opening up access to new markets (Sources: Vietnam Plus, 2024; Vietnam Seed Industry News).

    • Rising Export Demand for Organic Products

Vietnamese organic products are becoming increasingly popular globally thanks to high-quality standards and transparency. Provinces like Lam Dong, Ben Tre, and Binh Duong have developed successful organic farming models. For instance, Lam Dong exports organic vegetables and coffee, while Ben Tre’s coconuts and pomelos received Canadian trademark protection in October 2024, boosting their international recognition.

These advancements have raised farmers’ incomes while meeting demanding foreign regulations. Besides, the Mekong Delta has also expanded organic fruit farming through VietGAP compliance, helping gain access to markets in the EU and the US. These efforts ensure transparency and product reliability, key factors in attracting foreign buyers. This growing international demand is encouraging more regions to adopt sustainable farming models and further professionalize Vietnam’s organic agricultural sector (Source: Vietnam Plus, 2024).

    • Increased Foreign Investment in Organic Agriculture

The organic agriculture boom is attracting significant foreign investment into Vietnam. In one major example, Singapore’s Finc Biotech committed $33 million to a high-tech mushroom farming project. Japanese company HSC also partnered with Smart Eco Farm JSC to build a fruit processing facility using cutting-edge Japanese technology. In total, foreign direct investment (FDI) in Vietnam’s agriculture sector hit around $1.2 billion in 2024, much of it focused on organic and sustainable initiatives (Sources: Báo Đầu Tư, Vietnam Investment Review, Vietnam Briefing, 2024).

    • Strategic Partnerships Enhance Sector Growth

Strategic international partnerships are playing a key role in advancing Vietnam’s organic agriculture. Japanese giant Sojitz is teaming up with Vinamilk and Vilico on a $500 million project in livestock farming, processing, and beef distribution in Vietnam. Other partnerships with countries like Germany (via GIZ and IRRI) are providing funding, technical expertise, and training. These collaborations help Vietnamese farmers adopt eco-friendly methods, improve supply chains, and align with international organic standards. They also enhance transparency and traceability, making Vietnamese products more competitive abroad. (Source: The Investor, IRRI).

At Lion Huynh Tran, we recognize the pivotal role of strategic partnerships in accelerating ESG-driven transformation across Vietnam’s agriculture sector. As a B2B brand marketing agency, we support global institutions and local enterprises in navigating sustainable growth. We help our clients leverage these partnerships through data-driven insights and integrated brand strategies, connecting sustainable practices with market-ready narratives that resonate both locally and globally.
